One of those hideous books where the mother dies by Sonya Sones is more of a drug than a book. once I started to read it , it was so addicting i couldn't put it down. Ruby, the main character made the book hilarious and full of life . Her honesty and comedy kept me interested. The book club added on to my interest , our discussions were deep ,sometimes emotional and we connected outside of the book. While reading this ,the book club not only discover Ruby secrets, but we all shared secrets of our own. I recommend this book to young teenagers because its a great read and iil know anyone would enjoy this.

One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies.Is a great book, that I would recommend young teenager girls. The fact that Ruby has problems that any young teenager can go through or can relate to. I like the way the book was written, poem like made ti even more interesting. I liked working on the secret wall, where we got to share our own secrets. I also got to meet a great group of girls. And I would do everything over again.

One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies by Sonya Sones was GREAT. It's a very addicting book to read, once you start you don't want to stop. I was able to finish the book the same day I got it. It was a book a secrets and it was real cool to be in a group of girls discussing this book because we were able to share secrets of our own. I really enjoyed our group as well. I recommend this book to all teens and i guarantee everyone will enjoy the book as much as i did.

The story of Ruby's life after her mothers death is a very complex web of secrets. Ruby is unwilling to let her mother go, repeatedly emailing her. Having being sent to live with her father, a very popular actor who she hates with a passion for not being in her life earlier, Ruby finds herself in a horribly glamorous life that she would have enjoyed thoroughly... if only she could have had it without losing her mother and having to leave her whole life behind. Ruby tries as much as possible to make her distaste of her runaway father clear as day. Having left her life behind, she is forced into starting over. As if things couldn't get any worst, the girls at her new school look like they stepped out of Victoria Secret catalogues, her best friend is becoming detached from her, her beloved boyfriend also distinsting himself. Later upon finding out that he wasn't cheating on her with the school skank but her best friend! Ruby begins to feel even more alone. Would coming to terms with her new situation, her father's hiddden secret help her come to terms and finally enable her to let her mother go? Well, read the book to find out!
